Hey! What'up!!!..... If you are reading this, then you have already mastered the mystic and divine power of Internet. But, do you have any idea how you got this power? Me neither!!.. It's like you are playing a mod game where you already have all the powers during the start of the game and unless you are a true gamer like me you would hate that. Every stage and every mission would be so easy. Just like that we use internet everyday and it made our life so easy. From watching a youtube video to uploading one on it, or by purchasing something from Amazon to sell something on it. It is like we already have this mysterious power in our hand and we don't even know how we have it. I don't know about you but it haunts me.

So I did some digging to find out how this power reached our hands and how are we controlling it or how is it controlling us ๐Ÿ˜ˆ? ... and oh god... Have I not find a gem?... I am so excited to tell you this story of how computer network works and also introduce to so many interesting characters on the way.

So kids, our journey begins from August 1962 when a professor J.C.R. Licklider of MIT envisioned a "Galactic Network". He in his papers talks about a world where there is this globally interconnected network through which everyone could quickly access data from any corner of the world. This was the first pioneer set for the Internet.

But the next catalyst point when everything changed and things took a turn was Cold War ( period of geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union ) when Soviet Union launched the first sattelite Sputnik 1 in the space and becoming first country to launch a sattelite. America lost this battle. But he didn't intend to lose next battle.

Here comes ARPANET in the picture. It was the first public packet-switched computer network. The original ARPANET grew into the Internet. Internet was based on the idea that there would be multiple independent networks of rather arbitrary design, beginning with the ARPANET as the pioneering packet switching network.

This was a very brief introduction of Internet because I do not intend to go too deep in the history of the internet and lose the main crux of this series i.e. How computer communicates. In other words, how can we use this power?

In the Next article of this series we will deep dive in all the concepts of the networks and how we reguraly use it in our day to day life.
