Hey guys!!!!
Let's continue our journey..... Where were we?.... Oh.. yeah we talked about the mysterious power we have in our hands and which we don't even know where it came from and and how it works? Then we talked briefly about where it came from.
In this and upcoming blogs we will talk about how this power works and how we humans enhanced it to work in our favour.
The computer network as we talked earlier is a network which connects computer devices around the world. The best example we know is The Internet which interconnects billions of computing devices throughout the world.
Most of you already know this but to get everyone on the same page the requests and responses on the internet moves through the wire laid down in the ocean. These wires connects people from one part of the world to the other part on the internet.
In the picture, all the lines running across the ocean are the wire ( well, a better term would be network cables made of optical fibres), connecting every part of the world. If you want to gaze through the map a little more you can head to this website (submarinecablemap.com).
Now, since we are on the same page I think now I can talk about how all of this works behind the scenes but briefly. I am sorry if I am telling everything in brief but trust me we will talk in detail about all of these later. I am just trying to make a map inside your so that it will be easy for you to navigate in the next sections.
So, in the internet world, the devices we work on (mobiles, computers) are all termed as hosts or end systems. So for example, imagine you are in a room with just two computers connected by wires (again, a better term would be network cables) and one computer is requesting a file from another computer.
Assuming the network has been established between the two, computer 1 requests the file from computer 2. Computer 2 after receiving the request sends the file to Computer 1.
This is what happens behind the scenes. That's it. It's done. Bye!!
But why do I sense some questions lurking inside your mind like:
How two computers established network in the first place?
How was the file sent through those network cables?
What happens to both computers after computer 1 receives the file?
What if there are more than two computers?
How is all these happening so fast?
Is this blog even worth reading or am I just wasting my time?
What should I have for dinner?
Oh sorry!!! I went too far inside your mind. Old weird habit. So I think this is a good way to start our next blog. So I'll sense you in the next blog.
Bye!
